Régis Bodinier was born in 1972 in France. A former student of the School of Fine Arts, he first worked as a graphic designer and then as artistic director in publishing and advertising before becoming involved in the artistic field through photography as well as painting.

Between 2012 and 2017, he lived and worked in Beijing. He devoted these five years to photographing the urban environment and in particular the marks of time and the changes in Chinese culture, heritage and society...

His photographic work (traces), which has been exhibited many times in China, evokes the final moments of neighbourhoods before they are destroyed or transformed, changes in lifestyle, the place of old and new generations in villages that are being abandoned... He raises the question of the future of Chinese society in the face of rapid development.
